Canto

Connect Canto with your domain and an access token.

What you'll need

• Your Canto domain
• An access token with permission to read assets and add new versions

Create the token

Generate an access token from your Canto account's API settings, with read and upload permissions. Copy it when it's shown.

Connect

1. In the Inverity dashboard, open Connectors and choose Canto.
2. Enter your domain exactly as it appears in your browser, and paste the token.
3. Select the albums or folders you want watched.

Inverity adds the optimized file as a new version of the asset rather than overwriting your master. See How write-back works.

Good to know

• The domain must match exactly, including the subdomain.
• Token expiry. If your Canto token has an expiry, note the date — an expired token looks exactly like optimization stopping for no reason. See Tokens and permissions.
• Existing assets need a run. Watching covers new uploads.
• Consider a conservative profile for master libraries.

Disconnecting

Remove the connector in Inverity, then revoke the token in Canto.

Troubleshooting

• "Domain not found" — check the domain exactly as it appears in your browser.
• Worked, then stopped — the token most likely expired. Create a new one and update the connector.
