BigCommerce

Connect BigCommerce with an API token.

What you'll need

  • Your store
  • An API account token with permission to read and modify products

Create the token

Create a store-level API account in your BigCommerce control panel and grant it the scopes needed to read and modify product information, including product images. Copy the token when it's shown.

Name the API account Inverity.

Connect

  1. In the Inverity dashboard, open Connectors and choose BigCommerce.
  2. Paste the token and store details.
  3. Choose the catalogs or categories whose product images you want optimized.

What gets optimized

Product images, in the context of their product. Select catalogs or categories rather than folders.

Good to know

  • BigCommerce serves images through its own CDN. Propagation follows their schedule. See Delivery and caching.
  • Existing products need a run. New images in a watched scope are handled automatically.
  • Product data is untouched — descriptions, ordering, and variant assignments are unchanged.

Disconnecting

Remove the connector in Inverity, then delete the API account in your BigCommerce control panel.

Troubleshooting

  • "Token is invalid" — check the API account's scopes; it needs to modify products, not just read them.
  • Some images skipped — they were already well optimized. See Results and savings.
